Interview with DOTA 2Caster, Kathified

Sailor Scouts were a team that had registered for this tournament.  However, when that plan fell through, Kathified volunteered herself as a caster.  Being the sole lady among the men may be daunting for some, but not for this lady who gives her 100% commitment to the game and to her team.  Here to answer the questions is Kathified!

G’day kathified, mind introducing yourself to the Canberra DOTA2 scene?
Hi everyone, this is kathified/Sailor Jupiter. I go to uni, coach chess to kids, shoot arrows at targets and play DoTA although sometimes I wish I could play uni, shoot kids and coach targets. I started playing DoTA2 maybe 2 years ago and I started casting only relatively recently.

We’ll be hearing your commentary in games at the tournament, how would you describe your style of casting?
Well the only casting experience I have is with a more knowledge co-caster, like at MAQLAN and in the DiH guild, so I tend to do the play-by-plays whilst relying on them for analysis.

Are you able to tell us more about your shoutcasting and gaming history?
My partner 'juice' made me do it. Just kidding, I was genuinely curious about the game and started playing after watching him play every night with his friends. After about 140 games as Lich I played branched out and played Lion and Jakiro with the DoTA is Hard guild and sometimes joined juice casting the weekly in-houses. Then last month I played with '50 Shades of Dave' where we came 3rd at MAQLAN (http://challonge.com/MaqLAN_Dota2) and casted the finals between juice's team and Sonogong's team.
No peer pressure here for Kathified
You were meant to be competing under the team Sailor Scouts, what caused you to bail out on that idea?
Sailor Scouts was only formed at the beginning of this year with members from Sydney and RADelaide and not everyone could make the interstate journey and with stand-ins our team was lacking the synergy expected in such a high level competition.

Would you like to give your quick top 4 predictions for this tournament?
1. 4FM, if not then
2. 4FM, but if that's not possible then
3. 4FM, and if that's not in their reach then
4. 4FM but juice will have to walk back to Sydney

We can already see 4FM are cleary the team that you’ll be supporting. Any other teams that are you familiar with in this tournament?
Unfortunately I do not know the Canberra scene very well but I always enjoy supporting the ones who are playing at their best.

The popular question, what can the Australian DOTA 2 community do to increase the level of competition in Australia to match that against tier 1 teams in the world?
More LANs, more online tournaments, more prize money and maybe a DoTA2 dorm.

You’ll be joined by ColdBlood and OnlyLogic as part of the casting crew.  Can you give us a preview of what’s in store?

I haven't cast with them before so hopefully we don't cut each other off too much. I look forward to learning a thing or two from OnlyLogic.

Will we see you in future Canberra DOTA2 tournaments?
Probably, and if you do you will see me...
Fighting evil by moonlight,
Ganking lanes by daylight,
Never running from a team fight,
She is the one named Sailor Moon.

Kathified, thank you for your time, is there anything further that you’d like to add or any shoutouts?
Firstly, thank you Chinky for conducting these interviews and building up rapport of teams in the community. And shoutouts to Fanatic and Pixie aka Sailor Mercury and Sailor Moon.
