Interview with RAD's Captain, bigCow

We got the chance to ask bigCow, the captain of RAD, some questions leading into the tournament.  He didn't disappoint with his answers and this will be one of the teams that Canberra should get behind.  Young, brash, and confident, everything that makes you take a step back and make you say 'WOW! THAT TEAM IS RAD!!"

Take it away Daniel aka bigCow!

Hey bigCow, mind introducing yourself to the Canberra DOTA2 scene?
Hey, I'm Daniel and I'm from Sydney but I've moved down here for uni. I've been playing dota for about 5 years now.

Are you able to introduce your team mates as well and their roles in the team?
WELL, currently there's BLOODSTRUCK who is our dedicated feeder/trash talker/support and Vergil7 on mid and feed. As for the rest of us nothing's set in stone yet but we'll figure things out as time comes.

Team RAD ready to take their first leap

How long have you played together with your current team?
Me and BLOODSTRUCK played with another bunch of players for a university held DOTA tournament last year. We rekt Vergil(who was on another team) but picked him up afterwards cause he's a pretty cool dude and a pretty good mid player. I've played with these two for over a year now I guess, but not much with the other 2 players.

You’ve constantly been asking the prize money, is that an indication that you will win this tournament?
Who doesn't like money? Haha I was curious about whether the prize pool would increase since it's been able to attract so many teams. But since you ask it that way, yep definitely 1000% sure we'll win this. Kappa.

We think it’s just not you but the whole team has a vibe that it can perform well, what’s the reasoning for this?
We have regular team bondage sessions.

You heard right boys, bondage sessions!

We will be counting on your team against our interstate rivals, do you know the likes of 4FM, Omega Squadron or Sailor Scouts?
Don't know about 4FM but I just read the interview with Omega Squadron and found out I came from the same suburb as them, so shoutout to Kogarah! As for Sailor Scouts, isn't Ada in that team?

What are your thoughts on the Australian DOTA2 Scene and how we’re looked upon by our international peers?
The general opinion is that 5k aus MMR =  3k SEA mmr but look at h4nn1 getting shrekt by our cancerous pubs. Honestly though,  I think the skill is definitely there but realistically it's very hard to get a team from Australia to do well on the international level due to ping/funding issues. But hopefully a team can prove me wrong.

Back to our own local scene is there any teams that you’re familiar with and respect?
Shoutout to boysboys for knocking us out in tournaments like 3 times in a row now. That 5 man suicide into our fountain to buyback/defend after our naga cancelled your tps is still the sickest thing I've played against.

If expectations fall short, will we see you in future Canberra DOTA2 tournaments?
Depends, trying to focus more on uni now. If we win though, #roadtoti9

BigCow, thank you for your time, is there anything further that you’d like to add?
Yep, thanks for organising this tournament and coming up with the questions.

Possibly the most accurate picture that we could find of the team
